Any thinking individual whose profession is in the translation / interpreting industry will accept that they are used to being reminded that producing accurate and "good" translations depends on being familiar with the culture of the country where another language is spoken (as well as one's own culture, of course). Hence, language has "cultural aspects", indeed.
What really encouraged me to write this blog is the following open question: how likely would you be to start learning a new language if you were unable to attach its name to it?
